climbing frame's orphanage
Hi,
after busy days, I'm finally back to to post something. I'm doing wonderfully still. Yesterday we in the orphanage a brilliant idea Andres built following a short climbing course. This has Nelson, Pia, Andre and cost me all day and we were nicely furnished in Ruhanzesia. As women with Panga, hammer and nail have Pia and I amused some people, because this is actually a taboo.
Today Friday, so I go to Flora's school to share a few computer skills. Pia and celebrate in the evening then leave, and Andre-as it should, a goat is slaughtered. We celebrate the fire in the forest and I am very excited. How can I deal with the goat in me I have to think it over well. But, thank heaven for nearly a year's time.
From next Sunday I will go. Actually I do not want away from Rukararwe (visit another volunteer and make a few purchases in the botanical garden) but has to Fort Portal, get in Kampala material for the tayloring workshop and the group of women and work in the cooperation with YSA and then allowed I have a new project visit in Soroti. Soroti, however, depends on whether fold all plans and Geoffrey has time to take me. Geoffrey is quasi chief of RPWRD and YSA. I would therefore very much welcome to also go to Soroti and am curious how everything goes. This one can still never know.
from Kampala I got by the mission or warning messages that might give disturbances in an urban area (Makerer University, were todgeschossen where a few days ago, according to the diplomatic mission under unexplained circumstances, two students of security guards). If you are in the so-called "German List" section, you get regular reports about such incidents. So far This is but the first since I'm here. Two days after the last warning was already a message that the riots were over.
In terms of communication, I still get not the first lesson in Runyankole, but I hope to soon and timpani ever for me so far is the self-taught. Particularly in dealing with the children and the women's group, it is possible I did not come with English more.
soon and greetings to Germany, where I heard that spring finally knocks.

A new women's project
After my predecessor, tailoring school has built and supports the Frauenselbstgilfegruppe, continuation, I would like this work. To further increase incomes for the women soon start the new project. Candles and soap are then also ensure that some of the independent women by their husbands or other support for themselves and their children orphans and raised in schooling and medical care.
The picture shows one of the baskets, the women produce successfully. For the start of the candles and soap production, we are still collecting donations.
first prototypes ready at just the women. The paper production for the packaging needs some more time. At the moment I write plans, calculate for the seamstresses and the new school project and search for additional ideas besides the work in other areas of RPWRD. Especially on the plans relating to the cultural center, I'm curious. We probably talk them through in the coming week.
Many greetings to Germany

National Park and Orphanage
In recent days I have had exciting and full of contrasts. During a trip to a city near the Queen Elizabeth National Park, I saw pictures, you'd expect from Africa. A huge area stretching as far as the eye can see and I saw elephants, monkeys and hippos.
Yesterday we visited the nearby orphanage, which is working with Rukararwe and supports much of here. About 40 children live there under very simple conditions. They sleep for two or three to a bed and have a small plot, located on the two small classrooms, a small kitchen and two sleeping rooms. For the Plumpsklogebaeude had to borrow the orphanage adjacent land from a farmer. One classroom is also the common room. Most children had broken, worn clothes, not all of them wore shoes.
I think about having our visit, the children happy. I was with two Rukararwe staff, Nelson, and Jonson, and Andre, another volunteer there. Andre visits the children regularly and they already knew his Slag Line, we have also excited yesterday.
Today was Haushaltstag. That means here only once to get water to boil then to buy milk and to heat water for showers and washing on the stove and make all the laundry by hand. Veeny, an employee in Rukararwe, who lives with the family next door, made me happy then at noon to the strengthening of Matoke and rice with peanut sauce. This is a typical dish. Because of the strong sun, I was doubly happy not to have to cook.
